Yesterday we had the pleasure of whipping up hundreds of burritos for the Sunnyside community which was hit pretty hard by the recent flood. We spent the afternoon in the community kitchen at the Hillhurst-Sunnyside Farmers Market as part of a fundraising initiative for flood victims in that community. We whipped up veggie and pork burritos, both of which were stuffed with brown rice, slaw, homemade salsa, sweet potatoes, corn and black beans. We were delighted to hear that the event raised over $8,000. A big thank you to the folks that organize that market for inviting us to participate, as well as to all the awesome bands that played and volunteers that helped make the event possible.
